Notice to Client Regarding Operations Under COVID-19
In an attempt to limit the risks associated with the transmission of COVID–19 and comply with CDC guidelines, we will be changing our office policy effective Wednesday, March 18th until Monday, April 6th, for our office. Our office will remain open and at this time all of our attorneys and staff will be present in the office to handle your cases.
Office Appointments: We are temporarily suspending most in–office conferences for clients. For the next few weeks, all conferences will be conducted via telephone. For new and existing clients, if you feel an in–person appointment is necessary, please contact our office, and our attorneys will make the necessary arrangements on a case–by–case basis. We would like to limit the number of people in our office as much as possible to limit any chance of infection and/or spread the virus.
In order to efficiently meet the needs of all parties, it is necessary that we schedule specific times for phone conferences. To schedule a telephone conference, please e mail us, and we will schedule a specific date and time for your phone conference. We will do our best to accommodate your scheduling preference, but please understand that we are attempting to accommodate the changing schedules of all clients due to recent school and business closings.
Delivery of Documents: In the event you have specific documents you need to get to our office, please scan and e–mail the documents to us or fax them to us. If you do not have the capabilities to fax or e–mail the documents, then please mail them to us.
Payment of Fees: You can call our office to make payment by Visa, Mastercard or Discover or make payment via our website. If you are paying by check, you can mail the check to our office.
Phone Calls: Currently, our receptionist is still available for routine phone calls. Please be patient, and we will make every effort to take calls in the order received or return calls left in voicemail.
Case Management: Our attorneys and staff are capable of electronically filing documents with the Court and communicating with opposing counsel, the Courts, and Social Security Administration regarding your case. Rest assured we will continue to diligently work toward a resolution to your case.
Court Appearances:
a) Family Court: On Monday, March 16, 2020 the Courts announced that all trials in Family Court are canceled and will be reset by the Court in June, 2020. If your case is currently on a trial docket, your attorney should notify you of the new date as soon as they are informed by the Court. Emergency hearings will be held with the Court via teleconference and all evidentiary hearings are temporarily suspended. Family Courts will be operating a “skeleton crew” for the next three weeks. Your attorney should notify you directly as soon as the Family Courts are returning to normal scheduling, or if the situation changes and the current court procedures are extended, you will be updated by your attorney. You can review the Court‘s Administrative Orders on our website.
b) Social Security Disability: Hearings are still proceeding, but telephone hearings are required. You should come to our office on the hearing date as we will do the hearing by telephone.
c) Worker‘s Compensation: Dockets are done by telephone are mediations. In person hearings may still be done, but need to be specially requested.
d) Criminal: The Courts are closed until April 6th.
e) Injury Matter: The Courts in Missouri are closed until April 6th.
We are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of clients, families, and staff, and your legal needs remain a top priority. Again, if you have specific questions or concerns regarding your case status, please first contact your attorney or his paralegal for information and they will be happy to assist you
